Standing With Colombia:
Help Us Bring Psychological Support to Earthquake Survivors

Free Webinars on Trauma and Resilience, Workshop

Individual, and Group Counseling

The recent earthquake in Cali, Colombia has left individuals and families facing fear, uncertainty, loss, and the difficult task of rebuilding their lives.

In the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster, emergency assistance such as food, shelter, medical care, and physical safety is essential. But the impact of a disaster does not end when the ground stops shaking. The psychological effects can continue long after the immediate crisis has passed.

For survivors, particularly children, families, and people who have experienced previous adversity, an event like this can bring overwhelming fear, grief, anxiety, helplessness, and trauma.

Commit and Act Colombia Is Responding

Commit and Act Colombia (CAA Colombia) is mobilizing to provide psychological aid and trauma-informed support to individuals and families affected by the earthquake.

Consistent with Commit and Act’s international mission, our goal is to bring science-based, culturally sensitive psychological support to vulnerable communities during times of crisis.

Our response will focus on helping survivors:

  • Access psychological first aid and emotional support

  • Understand and normalize trauma responses and common reactions following a traumatic event

  • Develop practical strategies for coping with fear, anxiety, grief, and uncertainty

  • Strengthen psychological flexibility and resilience

  • Reconnect with their personal values, families, and communities

  • Begin rebuilding a sense of safety, hope, and possibility

Our work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and trauma-informed principles, while remaining responsive to the unique needs, culture, and experiences of the Colombian communities we serve.

We Need Your Help

We cannot do this work alone.

Your donation can help us bring psychological support directly to survivors who need it most.

Every contribution helps us expand our reach, mobilize resources, and provide compassionate psychological care to people navigating the aftermath of this disaster.

For someone who has lost a home, a loved one, a sense of safety, or hope for what comes next, having someone there to provide psychological support can make a meaningful difference.

Colombia needs us. Colombia nos necesita!

Together, we can help survivors move from fear toward connection, from trauma toward healing, and from uncertainty toward hope.

Please donate today and help us bring psychological relief to the people of Cali.
